For Jada Collins, commentator for the Ebony Fashion Fair, traveling has become second nature. For more than 50 years, this traveling fashion show has visited venues large and small across the country, going directly to the
Black community. Thirteen models travel to reach the devoted fans who have been attending this highlight of style and sensibility for generations.

Things got off to a sizzling start when the 51st Annual
Ebony Fashion Fair Presents The Runway Report: What’s
Hip. What’s Hot. What’s Now! opened in suburban
Chicago for its 2008-2009 season.

Surviving the hustle and bustle of the holiday travel
season is no easy feat. But spending time with
loved ones from near and far makes any daunting
experience worthwhile. Whether you are trekking
by plane, train, or automobile, the easiest and
chicest way to travel is with a carry-on bag. One
jet-setter who always travels stylishly light is Jada
Collins, the Ebony Fashion Fair commentator. As
an eight-year veteran of the world’s largest traveling
fashion show, Jada has become an expert at
the get-up-and-go and graciously agreed to show
us this year’s travel trends.

More than 1,000 fashion patrons turned out to witness
the kickoff show for the 50th annual Ebony
Fashion Fair at the Tinley Park Convention Center &
Holiday Inn Select in Tinley Park, IL.

As curtain time nears, people scurry to their seats. The show is sold out. In the front rows are media personalities, politicians, corporate executives, designers, fashionistas and other luminaries in the Black community. The house lights dim. The stage comes alive. Hi-tech lighting paints the audience. Hip-hop rhythms move the crowd to bop in anticipation.

Whether you are prepping for a winter retreat at a luxurious resort or planning ahead for the hip-and-happening pool parties that flow in with the warm summer breezes, it’s not too early to add a little spice to your swimwear wardrobe. This season’s swimwear is sizzling hot with daring colors, sensational prints and plenty of details in cut and design.

Nothing but joy, warmth and love was radiated as Mrs. Eunice Walker Johnson was welcomed back to her hometown of Selma, AL, as keynote speaker of the ribbon-cutting and building dedication of a new branch of the YMCA of Selma-Dallas County.
